MindSpark — Marketplace Platform
Multi-vendor marketplace for educational content with automated 80/20 revenue splits.

Project Goal
The client — a teacher with an established Shopify store selling educational materials — had outgrown a single-vendor setup. The vision was a dedicated marketplace where other educators could sell their own content alongside hers, with an automated revenue split: 80% to the seller, 20% to the platform. The goal was to create a scalable platform that turned a personal store into a thriving educational community.
My Role
I was brought in to design and build the entire marketplace from scratch — a platform that Shopify simply couldn't support out of the box. Full responsibility from architecture to launch.
Technical Build
Built with Next.js and React for the frontend, Supabase handling the database, user authentication and seller accounts, and Stripe Connect managing the automated payment splits between platform and sellers. The 80/20 revenue logic runs automatically on every transaction — no manual handling needed.
The Challenge
Multi-vendor marketplaces are significantly more complex than standard e-commerce. Every seller needs their own account, their own product listings, and their own payouts — all within one coherent platform experience for the buyer. Stripe Connect was the key to making the financial layer work cleanly at scale.
Result
MindSpark is live today and in active use. Educators can list and sell their materials, buyers get a clean and focused shopping experience, and the platform handles revenue distribution automatically in the background.
